A LETTER to my younger self
3 February 2017
It's the start of a new month, so I thought why not write a letter. Not just any letter, but a letter from my future self to my younger self. So basically what would I say to my younger self, if I saw her in the world today. This was inspired from something I saw on YouTube a few years back with the YouTube community.
Dear Me,
You are beautiful inside and out. Don't let anyone tell you that you aren't perfect, because there is no perfection. No one can tell you that you aren't the right height and weight for your age. You can't change that. Be yourself, through every decision that you make. Make sure that everything you do is from the heart. You'll go to school with a friend that you don't trust and you'll feel as if she is restricting you to do things that you want to do. Don't let her. You are you, and she can make you believe what she believes. You'll end up becoming best friends with her, but she is the one that will change your whole perspective on her. She will do something that you will never forget, even to this day. But also remember that she shaped you into the person that you are today. Remember to stay strong and brave, no matter what life throws at you. Stand tall, because no one can tell you that you aren't perfect or that you aren't good enough. In this life, you will struggle with the whole idea of not ever being enough for the person next to you. But in the next year off your school life, you'll meet brand new people, who will stick with you for life. They are your true friends and they would never do anything to hurt your feelings.
Later along in life, you'll begin to feel this voice inside your head, to start taking on the huge role, of writing a book. You'll feel frustrated at first, but then ideas will flow out of your head. The characters you create in your book, will be the foundation of your story and someone who you can talk to and have no reply. You'll then begin to start a blog. The first blog post, you'll feel weird at first, but after one year, you're going to open up more to your audience, especially about issues that you have faced in the past.
So to sum things up, believe that you can become that person that you have wanted to become. Be you, because that is the best version of yourself. Be brave and take risks that you would have never have taken. Love yourself including every mistake and flaw that you have. You aren't perfect and you'll realise that after many years of chasing the idea of perfection round and round in your mind. You'll begin to appreciate the little things in life for example how beautiful life is and how precious it is. You'll cry, laugh and make memories with people that matter to you. And then you'll begin to think that your life is perfect and no one can change that or take that from you.
