birthstone series - july
1 July 2017
And welcome back to another birthstone series post. It has been too long since I did a post like this. The last one I did was two months ago. I missed June's birthstone, but I'm back with July's birthstone. I will be blogging throughout the month of July so stay tuned. Anyway, without further ado, let's begin the month of July.
Rubies are considered the king of gems and represent love, health and wisdom. It was believed wearing a fine red Ruby bestowed good fortune on its owner. In ancient times, rubies were a self-radiant stone that contained the essence of life in a form of a drop of Mother Earth’s blood.
They are believed to be able to increase stamina and mental strength and boost courage. They are thought to eliminate fatigue and depression, stimulate your motivation and creativity and make you truthful while you follow your goals. The Ruby is symbolic of passion, protection and prosperity. In ancient times, ruby was used to fight infectious diseases, encourage blood flow, and treat fevers.
The story of the July birthstone traces all the way back to the ancient Silk Road of China. The transport of rubies can be found tracing all the way back to 200 BC, as Asian traders imported rubies back to their native cultures.

"The gleaming Ruby should adorn,
All those who in July are born,
For thus they'll be exempt and free,
From lover's doubts and anxiety."
