5 May 2017
I know this is way overdue, and with so many things going on currently, but I'm back with the second episode. This Saturday I'm going to be back with my weekly blog posts. If you don't know already, I post every Saturday and sometimes, I will pop in during the week and have a surprise post. Anyway, I forgot to thank you to all 5000 of you that have followed me on WHI which is why I am now accepting Q+A questions. You can read more about this on my JOURNAL.
Moving on, lets get into today's blog post. This month's Birthstone is the beautiful emerald. Without me going into so much detail I'm just going to start today's blog post.
The emerald, was one of Cleopatra’s favourite gems and has long been associated with fertility, rebirth, and love. It is thought that emeralds signify wisdom, growth, and patience. The shimmering hues of green symbolise renewal of life and revitalization, akin to the verdant hues of the Spring season that reaches its peak in the month of May. Emerald is also considered to represent loyalty, friendship and faithfulness. Since ancient times, it has been believed to bestow the wearer with prosperity, foresight, good health and increases ones’ intuitive capabilities. The emerald is also known to bring in brilliance, love, liveliness, and empathy.
For those born in the month of May, wearing emeralds helps to enhance and balance their energies and this gemstone grants its wearer happiness. The healing power of Emerald was thought to ward off epileptic fits, cure fever and stomach ailments and put a stop to bleeding.
The soothing properties of emeralds are believed to have a stabilising effect on the mind and used to dispel insomnia and unknown fears, avert nightmares and to combat mood swings and schizophrenia. Emerald is also used also to fortify the immune and circulatory system. It is supposed to alleviate emotional heaviness and balance energy, help with inspirations, faith, calmness, wealth, to heal heartbreak by clearing away undesirable patterns of loss by reinforcing the emotional and physical heart centres. It is also known to be a stone of rebirth and recovery.

"Who first beholds the light of day
In spring's sweet, flower month of May
And wears an Emerald all her life
Shall be a loved and a loving wife."
