how i stay creative and inspired
18 November 2017
Hey! Welcome back to another blog post. I still can't believe how fast the year has gone by.It really has been one roller coaster of a journey, one that I'm sure, I will never ever forget in my life. Also I have come to the decision that I will be doing eight Christmas posts this year and a BIRTHSTONE SERIES post that I will do every month. It's going to be a hectic month, but I do hope that I can manage the postings. That is essentially two posts every week for the month of Christmas. Anyway, today I wanted to share how I gather my inspiration and I how I nail down to what type of pictures I want for my social pages.
Usually when I want to start a new piece of art, I look around on Instagram, Pinterest or Google Images to see what artists are creating. For example, my mountain drawing, which was inspired by a recent wallpaper I had on my phone, sparking the idea to create something inspired by a mountain.
What I did was search on Google Images for something like 'cute mountain drawings'. If I don’t like/find what I want, I then turn to Pinterest and Instagram and gather 3-5 pictures that I really love and get a general idea of the drawing I want. What I did with my mountain drawing was draw a simple circle with a compass and sketch a basic outline of the mountain. I added a constellation and moon, because I was really loving the whole galaxy and dreamy look that it gives any piece of art. Then I focus on what I want the mountain to look like.
I have a look at the photos I have chosen and get to a conclusion of what I want. The final product included a quote which I simply found by searching up ‘pretty quotes’ on pinterest and chose one that really represented what a mountain can mean metaphorically. Hard challenges and battles that you have as you grow older.
For when I want inspiration, I simply go onto Pinterest, Instagram or WHI to look for what is inspiring for other users and accounts. I generally get an overall image of what the accounts like and I try and embed it onto my own accounts. Its a process that may take many days to get an overall idea of what I want my own feed to look like. If you have a look on my WHI page, I have a theme in which I try to have a white coloured background. For some, it may be a lot of white, but some may have a tiny corner of white. My inspiration for this was from how I really was loving the white theme, and many of the people that I follow do have that theme.
But all in all, I think that you can find inspiration and creativity in your everyday life. Whether it may an event or a person in your life, inspiration and creativity comes in many types of forms.
